We experienced a technical issue on January 19, 2023, where a banner in Shop Manager incorrectly notified some sellers their shop was suspended pending bank account verification. This has been fixed, and we’re sorry for any confusion it may have caused!

For those impacted who have already verified your bank accounts, rest assured that your shop was not suspended as a result of this issue.

At this time, if you are still seeing a suspension notification in your Shop Manager, you may need to verify your bank account information.

Etsy sellers had a very unpleasant surprise this morning when a massive glitch displayed a message saying their shops had been suspended due to bank account verification not being completed.

Impacted sellers say their accounts have been verified and they don't know why Etsy would suddenly think otherwise.

Red banner in my shop, that my shop is closed, bank account not verified!
I’m trembling. I’m seeing a red info banner in my shop, that says that my bank account could not be verified, because I didn’t pay the small amount, and therefore can’t accept any new sales. My account is verified! I paid the little amount a long time ago! There is a link “want to sell here again?…

Is this a bug, has anybody had this before??

Account suspended due to not verifying bank account
Hello My account was suspended saying due to not verifying the account, however, I did verify the small money amount and it shows verified on my account but I have the banner across my main dashboard saying the above. Can anyone help? it seems very random and is not corret.

Yes! Exactly the same here. I have a massive red banner stating that I have not responded to a verification request sent over 60 days ago (. never received) and that my shop is suspended.

I tried to follow the link to verify my bank but it had been done over a year ago and my account shows on etsy as verified.

What is going on?

Shop suspended due to bank not being verified, but it neither of those are true???
So I am so confused! So I am so confused! Just went into my shop and the dashboard shows this huge red sign saying that my shop was suspended since my bank account wasn’t verified, press here to verify your bank account, I press and it takes me to a new window where it says “your bank account was verified” (because I did actually verify it just when I opened the shop)… also my shop is still visible to other customers, and my listings are still visible! So I’m not sure what this means and what to do! Any advise ?

It appears that most affected sellers are still seeing their shops open and receiving orders, so hopefully this isn't impacting sales, but I can definitely understand why they are so concerned!

Bank verification has been a sore subject with sellers ever since Etsy announced they would be using Plaid for the process.

Etsy Sellers Struggle With Plaid Bank Account Verification
Etsy testing using Plaid micro-deposits for bank verification & some sellers report serious problems as a result.

Some sellers have experienced technical issues with verification and others are concerned about the privacy and security implication - Plaid does not have a very trusted history in that regard.

The Indie Sellers Guild even launched a petition for sellers to express their concerns about Etsy requiring the use of Plaid for account verification.

As for this current glitch, an Etsy community manager says they are looking into the issue and to keep an eye out for updates.
