Etsy is waiving transaction fees on qualifying Share & Save orders through January 4, 2027, offering sellers a larger incentive to bring their own holiday shoppers to the marketplace.

The company announced the promotion October 20, temporarily increasing the standard 4% Share & Save refund to 6.5%, covering Etsy's entire transaction fee on eligible orders.

This holiday season, we’re making Share & Save even more rewarding so you can keep more of what you earn. Pay zero transaction fees on eligible orders you drive through your Share & Save links. We’ll refund the full 6.5% transaction fee to your payment account.

Existing Share & Save participants will automatically receive the increased refund, while sellers who haven't joined can enroll for free through Shop Manager. The promotion runs through January 4 at 9 AM Eastern, when the regular 4% refund will resume.

Etsy introduced Share & Save in September 2023 to encourage sellers to promote their shops through social media, websites, email marketing and other outside channels using unique trackable links, offering a 4% fee refund on qualifying purchases.

Under the regular program, sellers effectively pay a 2.5% transaction fee on eligible sales instead of the standard 6.5%. During the holiday promotion, the full transaction fee will be refunded, though payment processing, listing fees and other applicable charges still apply.

This isn't the first time Etsy has offered 0% Share & Save fees. A similar promotion ran for two weeks in February 2024 as the company made its Super Bowl advertising debut and launched its AI-powered Gift Mode shopping experience, alongside an Etsy-funded $5 buyer discount.

Under the holiday promotion terms, qualifying orders must be completed between October 20, 2026 and January 4, 2027, with buyers clicking an eligible Share & Save link during that same period.

As with the regular Share & Save program, Etsy Offsite Ads can override the discount depending on how buyers arrive at the marketplace.

Etsy generally allows buyers 30 days after clicking a Share & Save link to complete a purchase, though both the click and purchase must occur during the holiday promotional period to qualify for the increased refund. If a buyer initially visits through a seller's link and subsequently clicks an Etsy Offsite Ad before purchasing, the seller can lose the Share & Save refund and be charged an Offsite Ads fee of 12% or 15%, on top of the regular transaction fee.

That means sellers who originally brought buyers to Etsy themselves could still end up paying both the regular transaction fee and additional advertising fees rather than receiving the 0% transaction fee benefit. Offsite Ads attribution and other program restrictions were among the concerns raised by sellers when Share & Save first launched, including questions about whether promoting Etsy listings was worthwhile compared to directing buyers to their own websites.

Etsy says approximately 29% of buyers who made purchases each month through Share & Save links from sellers who joined during Cyber Week 2025 were new to the marketplace, based on the five months following that holiday shopping period.

The company did not disclose how many sellers participated in that group, how much sales volume they generated, or what percentage of Share & Save transactions overall involve new Etsy buyers.
