Poshmark users are confused and frustrated as apparent USPS glitch is causing past orders to appear in Informed Delivery summaries with erroneous counterfeit postage warnings.
Users have been posting in various Poshmark subreddits today, all sharing common stories of tracking numbers showing up in their Informed Delivery notices despite not having any recent purchases or shipments - and all of them say when they try to track the package, USPS displays a message saying "tracking information will not be displayed because this package was shipped with counterfeit postage."

I had this as well. All my past orders are completed with any current outbounds I already have are being sent later today, so I was concerned when I saw this. I sent a ticket to PM.
None of my outbound tracking numbers matched the one that showed up on informed delivery
I also have this in my informed delivery, except there’s 2 of them in outbound packages.
The tracking numbers both match two cancelled sales I have from Feb.(it was the same buyer so I canceled and bundled into one for her to save $)
There has to be something weird going on with the cancelled labels.
Some users questioned if this is a scam, but wondered if so how, would scammers have accessed Poshmark's systems or gotten their address.
Poshmark support has since posted to X confirming they are aware of the issue and working with USPS to identify and resolve whatever the problem is.
Hi, Poshers! We're aware of an issue affecting USPS labels, which cause past orders to appear as tracking. Our team is actively monitoring the situation with USPS and working to gather more details. We'll provide updates as information becomes available. Thank you!

Whatever is causing the issue is not an isolated incident and likely something on the USPS side as the same thing has happened before with labels printed from other marketplaces - for example, eBay labels experience the exact error complete with counterfeit postage message back in 2023.

eBay eventually confirmed that USPS corrected the error and users could disregard the incorrect notices - and that's likely to be the outcome for Poshmark users as well.
Stay tuned for updates and let us know in the comments below if you are experiencing this Poshmark counterfeit postage error!
