eBay sellers were told over and over again at last week's eBay Open virtual seller conference just how much the company values their feedback, but ongoing problems with "tell us what you think about this page" feature raise serious questions about whether eBay actually values seller feedback on updates and changes to the platform.
The problem was first reported in August when sellers were attempting to use the "tell us what you think about this page" feedback feature to communicate with eBay about changes to the Seller Hub orders page that were cutting off important information.
However, when they tried to submit the feedback, sellers received an email that their feedback to the eBay team had bounced due to the message being routed to an internal eBay distribution list that is not set up to receive emails.
Also, the Comments link note I sent bounced back to me that I need to be a member of that team to send them a note. So elizabeth@ebay devon@ebay kyle@ebay can you point this team to this thread?
I don't think this is what they intended to do & also let them know that the link on the screen is broken? Well, technically the link works fine, the screen came up for me to enter my comments & say if I wanted them to be able to contact me, etc, but then it bounced with the following error, so the Comments link is not going to the right team or they don't have their settings correc to receive comments.
Your message to DL-eBayemail@example.com couldn't be delivered.
The group DL-eBay-selling-mesh-orders only accepts messages from people in its organization or on its allowed senders list, and your email address isn't on the list.
Sent comment twice, first on 8/25 and it got bounce back [undeliverable] on 8/28 - so today's comment has another three days to come back.
I just tried submitting Comments for the third time and it has been returned as undeliverable to my regular email address even though the comments are submitted on the Ebay order form.
One seller even tagged Senior Manager Seller Advocacy and Engagement Brian Burke in an attempt to get the issue escalated and resolved.
brian_burke@ebay : I've sent in two comments so far on the latest attempts at revising the Sold Items page, both of which bounced due to Unknown Sender errors:
Your message to DL-eBayfirstname.lastname@example.org couldn't be delivered. The group DL-eBay-selling-mesh-orders only accepts messages from people in its organization or on its allowed senders list, and your email address isn't on the list.
What follows is a laundry list of steps to take in order to rectify the bouncing, mainly for the administrators maintaining the account soliciting the feedback comments. I can forward the whole thing if it's really needed, but the gist of it seems to be that someone has coded the Comments link to send user feedback to a secure internal email alias by mistake.
On August 28, Brian confirmed that this is an internal distribution list that should not be receiving these messages or be available outside the eBay organization.
That is an internal distribution list. I'm unaware of those ever being available to individuals outside the eBay organization.
Drop me the issues and I will forward them, or post them in this forum and tag me.
Other sellers confirmed and provided Brian with additional examples.
I submitted feedback a short while ago and got the same error.

Results in bounced email as described in the OP brian_burke@ebay . Based on numerous posters reporting the same in different discussions here, no seller feedback is getting through.
One seller even stated it had been happening to them for months, but offered a workaround that might also give the eBay tech team a clue as to what the problem may be.
It’s been like this for months. Just omit your email from the email field and it will go through. Put your email in the body.
Unfortunately, over a month later, the problem persists and sellers are still receiving notices their feedback is "bouncing" when they try to submit comments from various pages in Seller Hub, including their email address for follow up.
Another seller reached out privately after experiencing the same issue when trying to leave feedback about Item Specifics not working, another problem that has been impacting seller for over a month with no resolution.
This appears to be a relatively simple issue to correct as it should only require eBay to change the internal settings for where these messages are routed to an email address or group that is set up to receive them - presumably however it was set up prior to this problem occuring.
The fact they have not done so in over a month raises serious doubts about just how much of a priority eBay places on seller feedback about the tools and features that impact their day to day business operations.
