Etsy Testing "Instant" Transfers, Giving Select US Sellers Faster Payout Option - For A Fee
Etsy is testing a new Instant Transfer feature, giving select US sellers the option to get their funds into their bank accounts faster - for a 1% fee.
The Payments help and policy page has recently been updated to reflecting the offering, advising the limited beta experience is currently open to select US sellers with hopes to expand availability to more sellers in the future.
Instant transfer will allow you to transfer money from your Etsy Payment account directly to your bank account, typically within 30 minutes of submitting your request.Instant transfer is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including on weekends and public holidays.
To make an instant transfer request on:
- Go to Shop manager. If you’re using the Etsy Seller app, select the More tab from the navigation bar.
- In Finances, choose Payment account.
- If instant transfer is available, under Available for deposit, select Start a transfer.
- Choose Instant transfer. Funds sent through instant transfers will typically be available within 30 minutes and have a fee of 1% of the transfer amount, with a minimum of 25¢ and a maximum of $1 USD.
- Select Confirm transfer.
Instant transfers will deposit the total amount in the seller's payment account, with a maximum of $500 USD. Any remaining amount will be disbursed through their regular deposit schedule, or after they submit another request.
Sellers can only make one instant transfer per day and the daily transfer limit is $500 - meaning if you make an instant transfer request, even if the amount is less than the $500 limit, you will need to wait until the next 24 hours to make another request. The minimum transfer amount is $25.
If sellers choose not to request an instant transfer for the funds in their payment account, funds will be deposited into their bank account according to their regular deposit schedule.
eBay introduced a similar "Express Payout" option in 2022, prompting some to wonder if Etsy would be far behind since both marketplaces use Adyen as their primary payment processing partner in the US.

Apparently it took a few years for Etsy to catch up as it appears this new feature was added sometime after the most recent Payments policy update which went into effect October 9, 2025.
Instant Transfer (US seller only). Eligible U.S sellers may use instant transfer to make transfers from their Etsy Payment account directly to their bank account, subject to a fee.
Please note that if applicable, an instant transfer fee will be charged and displayed as part of the transfer process. Instant transfer is available 24/7, including on weekends and public holidays, and funds typically settle within 30 minutes.
The move fits with other recent updates pointing to potential profit opportunities beyond transaction take rates as Etsy eyes seller paid services to boost revenue amidst lagging sales and buyer growth.
