eBay's US General Manager Revolving Door Continues As Dawn Block Passes Torch To Ron Jaiven
UPDATE 10-27-25
Ron Jaiven has finally added an introductory post in the eBay community forum, telling sellers:
My first priority is to support growth for the eBay community. Strong sellers lead to strong buyer demand and a healthy platform. I look forward to a steady, practical partnership—listening carefully, learning from your expertise, and acting on what matters most. Your voice will continue to guide our decisions, and your feedback will inform how we evolve the eBay platform in 2026 and beyond. It’s an exciting time at eBay, we just celebrated 30 years as a company and we’re looking forward to what’s ahead.
Unfortunately like Dawn and several US General Managers before, the locked post does not allow sellers to comment or engage beyond giving a "thumbs up" - which isn't a great way to show you're open to feedback and looking forward to engaging directly with the seller-base.
UPDATE 10-25-25
Dawn Block has updated her LinkedIn profile to show her new title is VP Global Customer Experience. That means she's replacing Derek Allgood who held that title until apparently leaving the company in June 2025.
Allgood famously made the podcast rounds last year touting eBay's "phenomenal" customer experience - which many sellers found to be a laughable assertion.

Will Dawn Block be the one to finally fix customer service at eBay?

eBay once again has new leadership for the US marketplace as General Manager Dawn Block passes the torch to newly named VP GM of North America Ron Jaiven.
The shake up was announced at today's Winter Seller Check In, revealing that Dawn is moving on to a new Customer Experience role within eBay, focusing on improving support for both buyers and sellers .

Block similarly took over the role from previous US GM Adam Ireland at the Spring 2024 Seller Check In about a year and a half ago.

Jaiven was previously GM Motors Parts and Accessories from 2022 until February 2025, when he was moved over to GM Collectibles for a few months before recently updating his LinkedIn to show he had been promoted to VP GM of North America.

eBay is still on the lookout for his replacement to lead the crucial $10 Billion+ collectibles category going forward.

With the new title, it also sounds like Jaiven may at least temporarily be covering Canada as well as the US since eBay still has not named a replacement for Garry Thaniel, who recently moved back to the US to take on leadership of eBay's fashion initiatives.
