Heads up eBay buyers and sellers - variation listings are experiencing a strange technical issue that may make it impossible to select certain variations from the drop down menu when viewed on a desktop web browser.

For items with a large amount of variations, trying to select an item from further down the list in the drop down menu causes the menu to go into a random "spin", rapidly scrolling through the options but not allowing the user to actually select the one they clicked.

Starting last night, large multi-variant listings are no longer showing the correct item selected from the menu. From what it appears, anything after the first 20 or so items listed in the menu cannot be seleced properly. It is happening to all of our sports trading card listings.

When an item from the middle/bottom of the list is selected, the menu seems to cycle up and down through the items at the top of the list like a roulette wheel. The problem seems related to the desktop version, as some where able to search correctly on the phone app. Please help!

Hey eBay dufuses. Do you even code? My customers can not select the item to buy in my multi listings using variations. Before someone asks me what the heck I am talking about, simply click on my listings and try to select an item from down the list. The browser freaks out. Same results in Chrome and Edge.

Maybe the eBay coders are using Netscape? Hey, do you got mail? Do I need to fire up the AOL messenger to get ahold of someone in this dead company that can stop wrecking my darn listings so I can actually sell something?

Holy smokes....One of my accounts is 'heavy' on variations....i tried two of mine and after the 1st Select on the 2nd Select the listing looked like the wheel of fortune slot machine.....selections spinning randomly, random pictures loading and unloading.

That's not good.......

I wonder if this is connected to the other MV issue which has been going on for at least weeks, maybe longer, where you click on a photo and it comes up with another in the lineup, or it sticks and won't show the photo you just clicked on next.

Of course there's also the issue sellers are having with "server down" messages when trying to use the pencil thing to edit qty.

One eBay community member says they have reported the issue to support and were provided with ALERT 14837 as a reference for this issue - if your variation listings are affected, it may be helpful to provide that number when contacting support.

I just got off the phone with eBay. According to the CSR the, issue was first reported about 4 hours ago and now has an ALERT ID. The ALERT ID is 14837. If you contact customer service please provide the ALERT ID so your account can be added.

Users also report the issue is not currently happening in the mobile app, so if there's a variation item you really want to buy, using the app may be the best work around at this time.
