eBay Sellers Once Again Frustrated By Changes To Seller Hub & Draft Editing Experience
eBay sellers are struggling with multiple updates disrupting their normal workflows with changes to the Active Listings page in Seller Hub in the web experience and editing drafts in the app.
First, the Active Listings page in Seller Hub has a new design for action buttons, pushing Promoted Listings to the forefront while making navigation to other actions less convenient.
Frequent eBay community forum commenter WastingTime101 expressed dismay at the change, calling it the "most inefficient change" yet.
Dear eBay, I didn't realize you hate me so much
At least I know where we stand now.
Seller Hub > Active Listings
most inefficient change yet
impossible to manage listings
Other sellers chimed in with mostly negative opinions of this design update.
Yup, already sent my feedback in yesterday. Along the lines of if it is absolutely necessary to have the Action button be GIANT, at least consider changing the fonts of the column headings, so that I can squeeze back in the columns that I actually want on that screen. I use the Views & Watchers columns & I have to have them much wider than necessary b/c of how long the column headers are.
It just throws the whole page off balance to have that giant button. I gotta wonder, where there people who couldn't find it LOL?
Sellers in the UK community are discussing this change as well, so it appears to be a global phased rollout that will expand to more users over time.
Pointless New Actions Buttons!
Once again ebay seems to have introduced an ‘upgrade’ which makes things worse!
Using the website, an ‘Actions’ button has now appeared at the start of every listing for Sale. previously it was just a drop-down menu with all your options (Edit, End listing, Send Offer etc).
This button is HUGE - second only in width to the actual Listing Title, which means that if you want to view virtually any item specifics such as how many views, how many Watchers, Current Price etc, you have to scroll across the screen all the time (on an iPad, it may be OK on a Laptop but I doubt it!). Many of these columns were already unnecessarily wide, this has made it 100% WORSE.
The default button seems to be EDIT, but if you want to do anything else….. guess what you have to use a drop-down menu! What is the point of this button?
(PS - I have checked the ‘Customise View’ option but ‘Actions’ is not one of those columns you can delete, you are stuck with it)
And in the eBay app, sellers report the process for editing existing drafts has changed, requiring tapping through multiple pages to get to image editing instead of having everything easily accessible on the screen.
eBay App Change for Drafts
I'm hoping somebody has a fix or workaround for this:
Just today, whenever opening a draft within the eBay app, it walks through as if I'm creating a new listing even though these are drafts I created on the computer. Prior to today, I would set up the drafts (including any necessary research, part numbers, pricing, shipping, etc) then just use a mobile device to take photos. However, with the way the app is acting now, it's like having to set up the whole listing again.
I did try updating the app, but to no avail. Anybody know how to opt out of this feature change?
It is completely unusable or if you use it extremely prone to errors. Unless it is hidden, there is no place for a custom sku either. Hopefully it is reversed soon.
The same update also seems to be causing problems with descriptions in drafts showing in HTML code.
Listing from drafts has changed
Just now when I went to list an item from my draft page it now looks very different. Not helpful at all. When I click title and description it shows the description in HTML format(think that's what it's called) instead of showing actual text. Also when I now press list item it takes me to another page and asks if I want to promote it. Anybody else seeing this
Yep! Just went in to add photos to drafts on iPhone and what a freakin mess! Not an improvement!! I skipped through all their “pages” of a draft, added photos, saved and finished on iPad!
Descriptions on iPad though weren’t all just code like iPhone was. Descriptions looked “mostly” the same or as I had originally drafted them, but in several of these drafts eBay shortened my descriptions, taking my last line out (which for me is another place I put SKU)!
Not happy about this train wreck!
These changes are just the latest in tweaks and updates being made to various parts of Seller Hub and the listing experience that continue to frustrate and impede seller workflows.

Sellers are encouraged to share their feedback on the changes directly with eBay by clicking the question mark in the lower right corner of the screen and choose the option to send feedback.

Or from the listing form in the app:
