Poshmark Slashes Holiday Shipping To $0.99 In Battle For Resale Buyers
Poshmark is offering $0.99 shipping on US marketplace purchases and free shipping on qualifying Posh LIVE orders, making an aggressive holiday push for buyers as competition over shipping costs heats up across secondhand marketplaces.
The promotion began November 3, cutting Poshmark's standard $6.49 shipping charge to just $0.99 with no minimum purchase required. The discount applies to eligible orders placed through the website or app, including bundles of multiple items purchased from the same seller, and is automatically applied at checkout without a coupon code.

Posh LIVE purchases are excluded from the $0.99 offer, but buyers can get free shipping on live show orders totaling $75 or more after discounts and before taxes. Purchases from the same seller during a single show are automatically bundled toward that threshold, though orders from different shows cannot be combined.
Poshmark has not announced an end date for either promotion and says it may modify or discontinue the discounts at any time. Both offers are limited to purchases shipped to US addresses, and the company says the discounts will not affect existing seller fees or shipping charges, including overweight label upgrades.
Shipping has become an increasingly important battleground for secondhand marketplaces like Vinted and Depop, which have spent much of 2026 offering free and deeply discounted shipping to attract buyers of lower-priced resale goods.

Vinted began offering widespread free shipping in March, keeping rates unusually low through much of the summer before shifting most existing buyers to $0.99 shipping in August. The company subsequently introduced more variable pricing in September, with SpeedX rates ranging from $0.49 to $1.49 depending on package size, while USPS and FedEx start at $0.99 for Small and Medium packages and $3.19 for Large.
Depop has also cycled through several shipping promotions, including widespread free shipping in May and reduced rates beginning in July. In September, buyers began seeing another offer for $0.99 shipping on qualifying purchases under $10, limited to smaller packages, while the company has continued experimenting with free shipping incentives for new users.
Vinted has explicitly linked its focus on lower transaction costs to expanding the market for less expensive secondhand goods, while eBay's $1.4 billion acquisition of Depop in July gives the company a more direct opportunity to compete for younger fashion resale shoppers.
Etsy is also experimenting with subsidized shipping, testing capped rates on qualifying US orders while covering the difference between what buyers pay and sellers' calculated shipping charges. The limited test began October 22, with shipping caps varying by order and reaching as high as $7.99.

Poshmark negotiated a new USPS agreement in September 2025 that moved shipments from Priority Mail to Ground Advantage and lowered the standard buyer-paid rate from $8.27 to $6.49.
In February, the company restructured shipping upgrades for heavier items, replacing five weight tiers with two and increasing the maximum weight for a single label from 10 to 15 lbs. The changes significantly reduced costs for many heavier orders, though sellers shipping packages weighing just over 5 lbs saw a small increase.

While Poshmark is now offering deeper discounts to buyers, it has recently ended two shipping-related protections that previously allowed sellers to avoid additional costs absorbed by the company. On October 19, the company ended its subsidy of the new USPS hazardous materials noncompliance fee, leaving sellers responsible for the full $50 charge after previously covering $45. Poshmark had initially covered the entire penalty when USPS introduced it in July before reducing its contribution in August.
That was followed by another change October 26, when Poshmark stopped covering additional postage for overweight shipments, warning sellers that label upgrade costs would now be deducted from their earnings if packages exceed the standard 5 lb limit without the appropriate upgrade.
