eBay to close San Francisco office after lease expiration with plans to move current employees to San Jose headquarters later this year.

A notice was filed with state officials this week with the company saying they are not planning to layoff the ~198 software engineers, applied researchers, directors and financial analysts who instead will simply be reassigned to a different location.

The office closure is expected on September 30th when eBay's lease at 300 Mission St. is set to expire, according to reporting from the San Francisco Chronicle.

eBay recently laid off ~800 employees in February,  including 28 workers at the SF location and 243 in San Jose.
