UPDATE 10-14-25

Amazon has confirmed extended holiday returns for the US.

Our 2025 Extended Holiday Returns policy requires that items bought between November 1, and December 31, 2025, are returnable through January 31, 2026, except for Apple brand products, which can be returned through January 15, 2026.

This policy applies to seller-fulfilled, FBA, and Amazon retail orders.

Although the returns window for most orders will be extended, returns eligibility for all orders remains the same.

For more information on our customer returns policy and to view returns eligibility for each category, go to Amazon Return Policy.

But some collectibles trading card and Funk Pop sellers won't have to worry about extended returns as Amazon has made these items Final Sale for FBA as of October 1st.

Amazon’s extended holiday return policy begins November 1, 2025, lengthening the return window for eligible purchases through the end of January. While the change is welcomed by consumers eager for more flexibility, some marketplace sellers are bracing for a potential profit hit from post-holiday return surge.

In 2022, the extended holiday return policy was announced on September 30, with an effective date of October 7, leaving a very short amount of time for sellers to prepare, but after significant pushback, the extend returns timeframe was moved to November 1st in 2023 and 2024 to exempt items being sold during Amazon's Fall Prime sale event.

Sellers have been speculating that Amazon will stick with the November 1st timeline again this year with another Prime Big Deal Days event planned for October 7-8.

While there has so far been no official announcement for the US site, Amazon Japan has already released their extended holiday returns policy, confirming that items purchased between November 1 and December 31, 2025 that are shipped by Amazon.co.jp and Fulfillment by Merchant Sellers will be allowed to be returned until January 31, 2026.

From November 1, 2025, the following conditions will be added for a limited time.

When returning an item, the terms and conditions for returns stated on this page will apply.

The same timelines will most likely also apply in the US, though in the past Amazon has made a slight exception for Apple brand products, only allowing them to be returned until January 15th.
