eBay Canada is beginning phased rollout of International Shipping solution to help sellers navigate cross border trade challenges.

The new service, announced in August, expands on the eBay International Shipping offering introduced to the US in 2022.

eBay International Shipping Coming To Canada - With End Of De Minimis Looming, Will It Be Too Little Too Late?
eBay is expanding International Shipping service to help Canadian sellers navigate tariff & de minimis challenges - will it be too little too late?

Here's what eBay said about the program in an announcement posted to the eBay Canada community forum today:

We’re excited to announce that eBay International Shipping has started to ramp eligible Canadian sellers. eBay International Shipping is an easier and hassle-free way to reach more buyers globally with no international selling fee.

  • Ship to our hub and you’re done: When an item sells, send it to our Canadian hub using your preferred shipping service.
  • eBay manages customs and tariffs: We take care of customs and international delivery for you, so you can focus on selling.
  • Keep the sale even if it’s returned: If a buyer opens a return, eBay issues a refund at no cost to you, and you keep the sale.

eBay International Shipping protections for sellers mean you can ship globally with ease:

  • Lost or damaged items: If an item is lost or damaged in international transit, you’re not at fault.
  • Late or no delivery: Your seller standards won’t be affected by delays or claims tied to international shipping.
  • Neutral or negative feedback: We’ll remove negative feedback related to international handling from your account.

eBay International Shipping is coming to Canada this fall. Access millions of new customers around the world with ease.

The first eBay International Shipping domestic hub in Canada is located in Mississauga, ON and will initially support sellers shipping to customers anywhere in the United States, European Union, United Kingdom, and Australia.

eBay will work to eventually add more countries, but sellers will always be able to control which countries they wish to ship to via eBay International Shipping via Shipping preferences, Business Policies, or settings within the listing form.

Just like the US program, eBay will handle returns and claims for loss or damage in the international part of the shipment - the seller is only responsible for getting the item safely delivered to the domestic hub, and eBay takes it from there.

Currently, eBay International Shipping for sellers in Canada will only be available for items listed on eBay.ca or cafr.eBay.ca, since a domestic shipping policy is required, but eBay says they will be adding coverage for Canadian listings on eBay.com in the near future.

eBay will gradually expand the program’s coverage and enrollment when possible and sellers will be notified via email and Messages in My eBay once their account is eligible and has been enrolled

Once enrolled, eBay International Shipping will automatically display on listings that meet eligibility requirements based on category, item value (up to $2,500 USD for shipments to the US and up to $2,000 CAD for all other countries, excluding taxes, duties, and delivery fees), and listing location (item must be physically located in Canada).

Restrictions for hazardous materials and prohibited items apply, see full list of restricted items/categories for details.

eBay will also handle calculation, collection and remittance of all customs, duties, and tariffs, with buyers shown the amount to pay upfront at checkout to comply with prepaid duty requirements.

All sellers need to do is make sure Country/Region of Manufacture (country of origin) information is filled in on their listings to ensure customs, duties, and tariffs can be properly calculated - and it appears that eBay is deploying the same automation they recently announced for the UK to the Canadian site as well to help streamline the CoO process.
