eBay Adds AI Suggestions For Item Specifics When Relisting In Bulk

Sellers noticed a new feature this week when bulk relisting ended items as eBay adds AI powered item specific suggestions to streamline listing process.

The feature may be in beta testing or a phased rollout as not all sellers are currently seeing it, but those who do have access should see it when selecting multiple items from their ended, sold or inactive lists in Seller Hub and choosing to relist in bulk.

Important note: sellers are ultimately still held responsible for the accuracy of listing content, including item specifics, even when it is suggested by eBay AI - so always make sure to double check any information before launching the listing.

How It Works

When the seller views the items to be relisted in bulk, eBay AI will attempt to recommend information for Item Specifics, drawing from data that may be available in other parts of the listing like title or description.

That could be a double-edged sword as Jon from Flippin Ain't Easy showed in a recent YouTube video. Some of the AI suggestions were helpful and accurate while others were clearly pulling data from another part of the listing and incorrectly suggesting a different number for the model number field.

But inconsistent results aren't the only complaint sellers have about the new feature - like so many times before, the lack of communication and transparency around new feature tests and rollouts leave sellers with more questions than answers.

Sellers took to the eBay community forum to air their frustrations with the workflow disruption that comes from having new features randomly appear with no announcement or explanation.

Why is my relist screen now showing AI changes/suggestions???

how can I opt out??? Just started today and is a mess

Re: What changed today?

Today I went to do some Sell Similars and the entire application has been changed. I had to spend 15 minutes figuring out what they did and how to undo it. Ebay seems to think that if they say it is "ai" we're all so impressed we suspend judgement.

They have totally derailed me for the day. Again. If the sales were happening I wouldn't be complaining but Ebay goes out of its way to destroy my listings with their ads.
