UPDATE 1-12-26

Fast Group, the company formed via the merger of Sendle, ACI Logistix and FirstMile, is officially winding down operations, according to Supply Chain Dive.

Per a customer notice Fast Group has advised: “Despite these efforts and the progress made in building a differentiated platform, we were ultimately unable to secure the capital required to sustain operations. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to wind down FAST Group’s operations, effective immediately.”

The e-commerce shipping provider is winding down just months after its formation, but it aims to ensure no parcels are stranded beforehand, an executive said.

eBay Australia has now made an announcement about what to expect for Sendle parcels in transit and seller protections being put in place.

Sendle service update: How we are protecting you

As of 11 January 2026, Sendle has halted all bookings for parcel pickup and delivery in Australia. As a result, sellers are currently unable to create new Sendle labels through eBay.

What you need to know

If you use eBay Postage Labels and have Sendle selected as part of your calculated postage services, please review your listings and switch to Australia Post for new orders.

  • New Sendle labels can no longer be created through eBay Postage Labels.
  • Sellers using calculated postage with eBay Postage Labels should update their listings to use Australia Post, as Sendle rates are no longer available.
  • Parcels already picked up and in transit with Sendle are expected to be delivered by Sendle’s delivery partners, although some delays may occur.
  • Any Sendle labels created but not yet scanned or picked up will not be charged, as Sendle labels are pay on scan. Sellers will need to purchase a new label using Australia Post.

How we are protecting you

For affected orders, eBay will help protect sellers who have acted in good faith.

  • Late delivery defects related to the Sendle disruption will be removed.
  • Affected Item not received cases will be excluded from your Service Metrics.
  • Negative or neutral feedback linked to late or non delivery caused by this disruption will be removed.

These protections will be applied automatically where possible. There is no need to contact Customer Support unless you have a specific issue.

It's also important to note that while Australia is the main area affected for sellers on eBay due to the marketplace's partnership with the carrier in that region, the shutdown applies to all parcels shipped via Sendle in the US and Canada as well.

It will also impact anywhere shippers previously purchased Sendle labels whether through marketplaces like Etsy and Amazon or third party shipping tools like ShipStation and EasyShip.

The sudden shutdown of Sendle has left Australian eBay sellers scrambling, with unanswered questions over parcels already in transit.

For years, Sendle positioned itself as a cost-effective, carbon-neutral alternative to traditional parcel carriers, particularly attractive to small and medium sellers and its tight integration with eBay’s label platform made it an easy default choice for domestic shipping in several markets.

But the carrier's future is now up in the air as its new parent company, FAST Group appears to be suffering a post-merger meltdown as funding has been frozen due to alleged due diligence gaps and financial deficiencies.

Sendle customers report receiving emails on Sunday saying it would no longer be completing deliveries, according to the Daily Mail.

I am sorry to let you know that, effective immediately, Sendle will be halting all bookings for parcel pickup and delivery.

Any parcels that have already been picked up and are in transit will be delivered at the discretion of the delivery partner.

Any existing bookings scheduled for pickup on January 12 or later will be cancelled.

eBay users in Australia have mixed feelings about the move and some have raised concerns about what will happen to packages that are currently in transit.

Sendle will be halting all bookings for parcel pickup and delivery

I and many other buyers actively avoid sellers that use Sendle since they will use the cheapest possible courier to deliver items, with the resulting problems with seamless delivery compared to AP.

You pay for what you get

Not for me, this is disappointing and now we lack competition. I will now revert to all sent via mybusiness AP account now as all the sendle parcel have been cancelled that I made over the weekend. I believe Sendle may have gone into liquidation by the looks.

Personally never had any real issues with Sendle after sending 1000's with them over the years. Not any more issues then I would have with AP. I also found the drop off convenient, my local newsagent wont get the business anymore either.

And what happens to all the parcels currently in transit? Will CouriersPlease / Aramex actually deliver the parcel?

eBay Australia has reportedly disabled purchasing Sendle labels through the platform, but has not yet made any public announcements about what users should expect going forward and whether there will be any seller protections extended for shipments already in transit that may not be delivered.

Stay tuned for updates in this developing story and let us know in the comments below how the Sendle shutdown is affecting your online business!
