Meta Gives Facebook Marketplace An AI Powered Facelift
Meta launches new AI features, expanded inventory, and personalized, collaborative shopping experiences in Facebook Marketplace "glow up."
The platform hopes that new features will make shopping on the app more fun, useful, and social - especially for key Gen Z demographic.

Collections and Collaborative Buying
Collections is a a new feature that enables users to create groups of Marketplace listings and invite friends to join.
Simply save a listing, start a new collection, choose whether to make it public or private, and add friends to your collection to share updates via Feed, Messenger, WhatsApp and more.
Facebook Marketplace is also testing collaborative buying, so you can invite a friend to join your chat with the seller, making it easier to coordinate pickup, negotiate prices, and get answers to your questions - though it remains to be seen how popular this option will be with sellers who are already tired of constant messages asking if items are still available or lowball offers.
Personalization and Smart AI Insights
Buyers can now react and comment directly on Marketplace listings which will in turn help Marketplace learn what they're interested in, so they'll see more items aligned with their personal preferences in the future.
Facebook is also testing a new feature to make it easier to ask the right questions when you’re making a purchase - whether it’s a car, furniture, clothing, or anything you find on Marketplace.
When you start a chat with a seller, you’ll see a “Suggested questions to ask” button pop up. Tap it, and Meta AI will use the details from the listing and your conversation to suggest questions you might want to ask the seller.

When you visit a vehicle listing, buyers will also see new AI-powered insights gathering everything from engine options and safety ratings to transmission type, seating, cargo capacity, reviews, and price insights all in one place.
Expanded Inventory With eBay and Poshmark
Facebook's Marketplace Partnerships with eBay and Poshmark are helping the company capture Gen Z demand for vintage and pre-loved fashion and electronics.

Partner listings are marked with an icon on the listing , and are integrated throughout the Marketplace feed. Buyers will see the listing details and seller information on the Marketplace product details page but are taken to the partner’s site for checkout.
While eBay sellers were initially hopeful the Meta partnership could bring a boost in sales when it was announced almost a year ago, many say they are still not finding their listings cross posted to Facebook and those who do find their listings are concerned that AI description summaries could lead to increased returns and/or not as described claims.

Improved Checkout and Shipping Experience
And finally, Meta is improving the checkout and shipping experience to provide a more transparent and seamless process for shipped for Facebook Marketplace purchases.
Buyers will now see total costs, including shipping and tax, upfront, and receive notifications as order status changes to ensure clarity at every step and make it easier to buy from sellers no matter their locations.
