Etsy Gears Up For Holidays With New Tools & Support For Sellers
UPDATE 9-19-25
Ex-Etsy VP Payments Morgan Blake noticed a change that wasn't announced in Etsy's latest update - questioning whether a slight design tweak to the Etsy logo was really the best use of time and resources for the company.
Etsy just updated their logo very slightly and I'm angry that they wasted time and money on it. Sorry guys, you know I love you, but WHY? This accomplishes nothing but busy work, and it is certainly not one of the 'vital few' for $etsy pic.twitter.com/1X7hjZSTr4

I couldn't agree more. Of all the things Etsy could & should be doing right now - this would have never even made my list.
Etsy is gearing up for the holidays with new tools and reporting, increased support and purchase protection, updated processes for Trust and Safety appeals and a new community experience coming soon.
The updates were shared in a company blog post by Chief Growth Officer Kruti Patel Goyal detailing how Etsy is support sellers this season.
Smarter Tools
Enhancing our platform with smarter tools: Running a business is hard work, and time is often the scarcest resource.
To help sellers free up time, we’ve introduced a suite of improved tools. In Shop Manager, sellers will now see “Top Tasks” to help prioritize urgent actions, and our new Marketplace Insights tool powered by real Etsy data serves up buyer trends and ways to more effectively engage with them.
We’re also putting the power of AI into sellers’ hands with tools like title suggestions and Writing Assistant, which make it easier for them to clearly communicate with buyers and spend more time on the parts of their business they love.
The AI listing title tool and writing assistant were introduced in the last month as part of Etsy's push to deploy new technology with a commitment to maintaining a "human-first, AI-enabled" approach to the platform.

Also in the tools category, Etsy is rolling out new market insights powered by real Etsy data.
Want to know what buyers are searching for right now? Marketplace Insights helps you spot rising trends, choose the best keywords for your listings, and plan inventory with confidence—all based on real Etsy search data.
Every seller gets 15 free keyword searches per week. And for those who want even more insights, you can unlock unlimited access with an Etsy Plus subscription. The tool will roll out to all sellers over the coming weeks—jump in and start exploring as soon as it’s live in your Shop Manager.
What else is new:
- New color themes for Etsy Plus give you more ways to personalize your Shop Home so your brand’s style shines through.
- Etsy Ads improvements have made it easier for shoppers to find exactly what they’re looking for—helping you make more sales.
That strategy of offering a few searches for free before requiring an Etsy Plus subscription to unlock more is in line with other signs we've seen pointing to Etsy expanding more into paid seller services to increase take rates and revenue.

Community
Bringing our community together: When you choose to run a business on Etsy, you become part of our vibrant, global community of makers and creative entrepreneurs.
Sellers in our ecosystem have always inspired and supported each other, and this holiday season we’re offering even more opportunities to connect. First, our biggest event of the year, Etsy Up, is back with engaging sessions to help sellers level up their shops.
And we’re excited to introduce our first-ever live aftershow, where participants can learn from even more Etsy experts and ask questions in real time.
Next month, we’ll also launch our new-and-improved Community Hub, complete with AI-powered search, fresh educational resources, and a revamped Teams experience for discovering and joining groups of like-minded creatives.
While a post about these updates in the Etsy community says they'll be migrating existing Community and Forums content into the new system, it's unclear if the new Community Hub will be open and readable without having to be logged in or if access will be restricted only to those with an active selling account as much of the community forum has been since early 2024.

Trust & Transparency
Building trust through transparency: Keeping our marketplace safe and special is a top priority, and we can’t do it without the help of our entire community.
Sellers have told us they want more transparency and guidance from us on how they can keep their shop in good standing, so we're adding a new dashboard in Shop Manager that provides more insight into any policy violations.
We're also piloting a new process that makes it easier to appeal enforcement decisions from our Trust & Safety team on individual listings.
Etsy is introducing a new Policy Violations page in Shop Manager to help sellers track listing removals and others issues on their accounts.
You can now easily check whether listings have been removed from your shop from our new Policy violations page, right in your Shop Manager. From there, you can access:
- Your full listing removal history: See the listings Etsy has removed from your shop as well as which policy each listing didn’t align with.
- Clear, easy-to-access resources: Each removed listing links to resources that outline the relevant policies and can help reduce the likelihood of future removals, too. We’ll expand to include more in-depth details for more policies over time.
- Timely updates: You’ll receive notifications right in Shop Manager if one of your listings is removed.
The post also linked to a help page explaining the new pilot program offering a streamlined way for sellers to appeal when listings are removed in error.
We’re focused on improving the accuracy of our Trust & Safety efforts, but if we don’t get it right, we want to fix it faster.
That’s why we’re rolling out a more streamlined way to appeal removed listings, starting with a pilot for some sellers. With this option, you can request a review of listings you believe were removed in error, right from your Policy violations page.
- We’re rolling this out gradually so we can gather feedback and make improvements before bringing it to more sellers.
- If you’re part of the pilot, you’ll see a “View & appeal” option next to eligible listings on your Policy violations page.
- For now, you can only use this option to appeal listings that were removed for not meeting our Creativity Standards. We’ll announce when other violation types can be appealed in the future.
Here's how it works:
How do I file an appeal for a removed listing?
The ability to appeal listing removals is being rolled out gradually. This is so we can learn from your feedback and make improvements as we work to expand access to this feature to more sellers. If listing appeals aren't available yet from your Policy violations page, the Appeal status will say Not available when viewing the violation details of a removed listing.
If appeals are not available, you can select Review the policy to get more information on following Etsy’s policies.
Currently, only listings that were removed for violating Etsy's Creativity Standards after July 15, 2025 are eligible for appeal. We’re working on making listing appeals available for more policies in the future.
Appeals must be submitted for each listing individually. You have 90 days from the time the listing was removed by Etsy to submit an appeal.
To file an appeal for a removed listing:
- Sign in to Etsy.com and go to Policy violations within Shop Manager.
- If the listing was removed for violating Etsy’s Creativity Standards, select View & appeal.
- Select Start an appeal.
- Write out the individual steps you take to make, design, handpick, or source your item.
- List everyone involved in your business, including anyone you outsource your production process to.
- Upload any photos or supporting documents that showcase your listing’s process.
- You can list any other Etsy shops you own, on or off Etsy.
- You can add any additional information about your item or process.
- Your progress will save as a draft automatically. Once you’re ready, select Submit appeal.
Once Etsy receives the appeal, they'll review the info, then email the seller a final decision (whether approved or denied), which can take up to 10-12 business days.
If the appeal is approved, the listing will be restored on Etsy and available for sale again.
Support & Protection
Etsy is once again doubling cover for the Etsy Purchase Protection program for the holidays, offering up to $500 coverage on qualified orders.
Always-on support: Sellers can count on us to be there when they need help. Live support is available 24/7, and this holiday season we’re doubling our coverage under Etsy Purchase Protection, stepping in if an order doesn’t go as planned so sellers can keep moving forward with confidence.
