eBay sellers were caught off guard by an unannounced change to the view item page which removes Bid and Buy buttons from their listings.

While sellers know that eBay prevents them from purchasing their own items, for years the view item page has shown Buy It Now, Add To Cart, and/or Bid buttons on those pages the same way that they would to any buyer viewing the item.

However, that appears to have changed with multiple sellers reporting those buttons are now no longer shown when viewing their own items.

My (supposedly) active eBay listings have no "buy" button. @valueaddedresource.bsky.social any insight?

Sellers also discussed the change in the eBay community forum where some expressed concerns that prospective buyers might also be unable to make a purchase.

Listings unable to be purchased?!

Hello today I took a look at my auction and buy it now listings and the make bid and buy it now disappeared,no one can buy or make bids on my listing it’s already hard enuf to sell what’s going on? HELP

Looks like all of them on my mobile app just showing the watch option/message seller

Other community members chimed in to confirm they could see a buy button on the seller's listings, much to the seller's relief.

It's understandable why removing these buttons when the seller views their own listings would make sense from eBay's perspective and may even be a positive change over all - but as with many unannounced changes and tests, eBay's lack of communication causes unnecessary stress and frustration for its users.

Are you still seeing Buy It Now, Add To Cart, and Bid buttons when logged in and looking at your own listings on eBay? Let us know in the comments below!
