eBay Updates US, UK Sellers On Holiday Shipping Rate Increases & Christmas Posting Dates

eBay is advising sellers in the US and UK about upcoming shipping rate increases and important post by dates in runup to peak holiday shopping season.

US

eBay posted an announcement about upcoming holiday shipping rate changes for the US in the eBay community forum, detailing what sellers can expect from USPS, UPS, and FedEx.

2025 Seasonal Carrier Rate Increases

USPS
USPS has announced peak season rates running from October 5, 2025, through January 18, 2026. Beginning October 5, eBay Labels rates will also be updated, and we’ll keep you informed with more details along the way.

FedEx
FedEx announced peak season rates from September 29, 2025 through January 18, 2026.

The Demand Surcharge is waived for the following services on eBay Labels through January 18, 2026: FedEx Ground, FedEx Home Delivery® residential shipments, FedEx Ground Economy, FedEx 2Day®, FedEx Standard Overnight® and FedEx Priority Overnight®.

FedEx 2Day One Rate® surcharges begin on October 27, 2025. Packages will have a per package Demand Surcharge of $0.76 for Pak and Small Box, $0.74 for Medium Box and $0.72 for Large and Extra Large boxes.

Demand Additional Handling surcharges on eBay Labels are discounted for the following services for eBay Labels:

Demand Oversize surcharges will be assessed at FedEx published rates for the following services on eBay Labels:

UPS
UPS announced peak season rates from September 28, 2025 through January 17, 2026.

A Demand Surcharge will apply to all UPS Ground, UPS Ground Saver®, and UPS Air packages on eBay Labels:

A Demand Surcharge will apply to packages that require Additional Handling and Large Packages for all domestic shipments on eBay Labels.

UK

eBay is also advising UK sellers of rate changes for Royal Mail coming in October.

Royal Mail changes coming October 2025

Royal Mail has announced that it’s updating its consumer postage prices, effective from 6 October 2025.

If you use the eBay labels platform, please expect to see pricing updated as follows:

Royal Mail will be adjusting the inclusive compensation level for consumer Tracked services.

As of October 6th 2025, the compensation amount will be reduced from £150 to £75.

And UK sellers are also being advised of latest posting dates to ensure Christmas delivery for Evri and Yodel, with Royal Mail still to be determined.
