eBay Misses July 15, 2025 Payout; Makes Unscheduled Deposits July 18, Causing Seller Confusion & Concern

eBay community staff have confirmed today's unscheduled payout was performed to catch up and resolve the missed payout issues from Tuesday - and that payouts will resume per their normal schedule next week.
eBay experienced payout problems earlier this week that were quickly corrected, but lack of communication and mysterious schedule change causes confusion and concern for sellers.
The issue began on Tuesday when many sellers on both the daily and weekly schedules noticed eBay had failed to process payouts on July 15.
No payments sent out today 7/15/2025 Ebay internal error!
I am set up for daily payments and noticed this morning my payment was not sent as of 11 am EST , I am showing my next payment as or Wednesday 7/16 - I just spoke with ebay customer service and they said it is in fact a site wide internal error and payments should be sent out normally tomorrow.
I manage both my own and my roommate's accounts, both are set to payout on Tuesdays, to two different banks. Neither payout happened yesterday (7/15/2025). Next scheduled payout is Tuesday July 22, 2025.
Some manually requested an On Demand payout when they noticed the automatic payment had not occurred.
I'm set up on weekly payouts and noticed this morning that it was not sent, Ebay is showing next payout date for 7-22-25 (Next Tuesday) so I went in and requested the payout automatically. First time ever having to do that but also first time payout wasn't sent on the normal scheduled weekly payout day.
But the issue appears to have been global and in the UK, many sellers reported they were unable to even manually request an On Demand payout as there was a technical glitch which had rendered that option inoperable.

Has anyone else had problems trying to withdraw funds today? "Withdraw" button is greyed out. I did a livechat who said there was an emerging technical issue and it was being looked at. There wasn't any real sense of how long it might take, or if I could do anything other than wait patiently (not good at that!)
eBay UK community staff confirmed they were aware of the issue and advised it had been fixed as of July 16th, but users were still reporting experiencing the problem on July 17th.
Accessing Funds Not Working
The issue is still unresolved. I used to withdraw funds manually via the mobile app—it worked fine until July 15, and it hasn't worked since. I've tried everything short of dancing around a bonfire with a tambourine: contacted support multiple times via messages and phone calls, updated my banking information, waited two days trusting the support team's promises that it would be fixed soon, tried different browsers including Google Chrome and its Incognito mode, used various devices—nothing worked.
In an apparent attempt to resolve the issue, eBay has now triggered an unscheduled automatic payout today, Friday July 18th - which is causing even more mass confusion and raising seller concerns about possible fraud and hacking because it came out of the blue with no notice or warning.
Weekly Payout Sent on a Friday? Why?
I have had weekly payouts set in my account for YEARS, always sends on a Tuesday. Why did eBay send a payment out today (Friday)? Did anyone else have this issue? I did not request this, but it seems to be sent to the regular bank account on file, which is mine, so I don't suspect anything fradulent. Anyone?
Thank goodness my account wasn't hacked. Was it intentional for some unknown reason or accidental is the question.
The extra payout, and subsequent confusion, also seems to be global as many sellers are also flooding the UK eBay community with the same questions and concerns.
Unscheduled Payout
I’m on weekly (Tuesday) payouts. Today (Friday) eBay has send a payout of the funds accumulated since Tuesday. What a clown show.
Same here - not requested it but payment this morning - not great when used to monitoring bank reconcile each week.
Cannot find no pre warn from ebay about this?
And somewhat alarmingly, eBay UK community staff don't appear to know what is going on with the unscheduled payout and are indicating it is being treated as its own separate technical issue with a ticket raised to investigate.
Thank you for your posts. There was a technical issue on Tuesday this week the 15th that did impact on demand payouts and scheduled payouts for that day but that was resolved.
There is an open ticket this morning with tech who are investigating these unscheduled payouts. Once there is a further update I will let you know.
The fact that the issue is being treated as a technical problem needing investigation rather than an intentional correction proactively communicated out to support staff is more than a bit concerning and doesn't inspire much confidence in eBay.
Ultimately, the most likely explanation is that eBay is simply trying to make up for the lost weekly payout before the weekend - which, if so, would be a positive step - but without proactive communication to sellers, they've just made the problem worse.
