eBay Mastercard holders have received notice the program will be ending March 24, 2026 with existing accounts transferred to Synchrony's Premier World Mastercard program.

The eBay Mastercard page stopped accepting new applications sometime in January and now Synchrony has made the news official, giving sellers who used the card to pay for shipping and other business expenses less than 2 more months to accrue and use rewards before the switch.

Here's the email cardholders received from Synchrony today:

We’re writing to let you know that the eBay Mastercard Program will end on March 24, 2026. You can continue to use your eBay Mastercard through March 24, 2026. Your account will be closed on or after March 25, 2026.

Your new card

Your eBay Mastercard will be replaced with a new Synchrony Premier World Mastercard. Please note, we may not send you a new card if your account is closed or otherwise not in good standing. You will be receiving your new Synchrony Premier World Mastercard around March 20th, and once activated, you can start using your new card on March 25, 2026.

With your new Synchrony Premier World Mastercard, you will earn 2% cash back on every purchase, subject to credit approval. Your cash back is unlimited and gets credited to your statement every month, automatically. Any balance on your eBay Mastercard will be automatically transferred to your new Synchrony Premier World Mastercard.

Using your eBay Mastercard before March 25, 2026

You can continue to use your current eBay Mastercard, earn Reward Points and redeem them at eBay checkout when you reach 1,500 Reward Points until the program ends on March 24, 2026, provided your account is open and in good standing.

Reward Points redemption

Remember to redeem earned Reward Points by March 24, 2026 at eBay checkout. After March 24, 2026, any Reward Points over the 1,500 point redemption threshold that have not been redeemed will be converted to an eBay gift card at a rate of $10 for every 1,500 points. Reward Points below this threshold will be forfeited. More information about the gift card will follow.

You will receive more information about your new Synchrony Premier World Mastercard and any steps you will need to take when your new card and welcome package arrives in the coming weeks. There are no changes to your current Mastercard benefits.

An accompanying FAQ made it clear that ending the program was eBay's decision, though eBay has not issued any official public statement about the change and/or if they have alternate plans to offer a different branded credit card in the future.

eBay has not responded to request for comment as of time of publishing. Stay tuned for updates in this developing story.
