Chairish Gets A New Home In $85M Auction Technology Group Deal
High-end vintage home decor and art marketplace Chairish has been acquired by Auction Technology Group in an $85 Million deal combining their fixed-price, design-focused model with ATG's existing auction capabilities in an expanded multi-brand experience.
ATG says the acquisition will strengthen their position in the global Art & Antiques market by adding Chairish.com in the U.S. and Pamono.com in Europe to their portfolio, connecting over 12,000 sellers with a community of sophisticated design buyers, driving over 1.3 million curated listings and 4.6 million monthly visits.
Sellers will benefit from access to multiple sales channels and global audiences, and buyers will have an expanded selection of items available through both fixed-price and auction formats across categories, price points, and regions.
ATG Chief Technology Officer Lakshimi Duraivenkatesh posted about the acquisition on LinkedIn, saying it "represents an exciting step forward in the evolution of our portfolio."
If that name sounds familiar, you may remember Duraivenkatesh from her time as VP Buyer Experience Engineering at eBay prior to joining ATG, where she often led sessions at their annual Connect developer conference.
