Poshmark is leveraging partnerships with Google and Perplexity to boost external brand visibility and take advantage of AI-powered shopping features.

According to Search Engine Roundtable, Google appears to be testing or rolling out a new AI chat feature called "Ask Stores" within Google Shopping that may be providing Poshmark an early access leg up over competitors.

Google Shopping Ask Stores
Google seems to be testing or rolling out a new AI chat feature labeled “Ask Stores” within Google Shopping. The AI chat feature lets you “Ask about hard-to-find items, shopping, styling, home finds, trending pieces, brands, selling, and more.”

The AI chat feature lets the user "Ask about hard-to-find items, shopping, styling, home finds, trending pieces, brands, selling, and more" with an AI Chatbot that pop ups when you click on "Get advice."

The feature was spotted by David Kyle on X, who said that chatbot is unable to help with anything except Poshmark listings even if he told it he did not want to shop on Poshmark and that it claimed to be "part of a direct collaboration between Poshmark and Google."

And today Poshmark announced they've teamed up with Perplexity AI to offer a limited 1 time free shipping promotion for a purchase made through the new Comet browser.

Shoppers can take advantage of the offer by downloading the Comet browser and making a purchase from Poshmark.

The moves come as competitors Etsy and Shopify are making headlines with OpenAI Instant Checkout and eBay launches AI Activate in the UK, a new initiative to provide AI tools and training to small businesses.
