Etsy Widespread Tech Issue Causes Reported Traffic Stats To Display All Zeros
Etsy sellers across the globe are in a panic as reports for view and visit stats are suddenly showing all zeros with no updates over many hours.
One thread in the Etsy community forum about the issue has over 130 responses from sellers in the US, Canda, UK and more, showing it is a global reporting outage.
Stats Not Updating
It has been almost 14 hours that views and visits are not updating. Anyone experiencing the same?
In France, statistics are dead, as are sales! Customs duties in the US are ok, but we have become invisible in worlwide....
I'm in UK and just realised that my items are not showing up in search to US customers, what's going on?
I'm in the US and my stats are not even showing up a time that it was last updated. It's just blank! I noticed the past few weeks that the stats are not updating very often, but this is different.
Same here, in Canada. Having coffee and checking my stats ... only to experience "dashboard letdown"!
Some who have contacted support say they are being told it is a display issue that should not be impacting sales, but those sellers say they aren't so sure about that because they have also noticed a significant drop in sales since the issue started.
I have just contacted Etsy support about this, and it is thought to be a lag/delay on the stats coming through. Apparently it should not be impacting shop performance, however I must say after a high amount of sales on Monday and Tuesday, there have been no sales since around 13 hours ago when the stats were last updated. Very odd.
While some speculated the issue may be related to Etsy making updates to adjust for tariff and de minimis changes for items being shipped into the US, that seems less likely considering the issue is impact sellers located in the US as well.
However, Etsy has recently posted updated guidance around listing best practices and optimization, including a new AI tool to help sellers rewrite item titles, so it's also possible this glitch or temporary outage could be related to those changes as well.
For example, the Etsy Seller Handbook was just updated yesterday with several new articles on The Ultimate Guide to Etsy Search, including how to use the Search Visibility Page to help optimize your listings.
When shoppers are searching on Etsy, it’s important that they can easily find high quality listings from shops that have a track record of good customer service. Making these listings easier to find helps build trust with shoppers so they come back to shops like yours again and again.
In this guide, you’ll learn how using the right keywords in your tags and titles and adding categories and attributes creates new opportunities for your listings to match with shoppers’ searches. You’ll also learn how to improve your search ranking by optimizing your listings for conversion and following Etsy’s customer service best practices, how Etsy search works generally, and the factors that go into determining search ranking in Etsy search.
Plus, discover how to tap into the insights and recommendations available in the Etsy search visibility page in Shop Manager to help optimize your listings.
The Search Visibility Page was launched in August 2024, but it's possible they could be making some tweaks or updates to the tool that could be causing the technical issue sellers are experiencing today.

Etsy also announced updated guidance for listing best practices last week, nudging sellers to use new AI tool to help optimize item titles.

That new AI tool was initially only available to a small number of sellers, but Etsy said they planned to expand it to all sellers "over the coming weeks" - so it's also possible that something may have gone wrong with those expansion plans and could have had unintended effects on traffic reporting stats.
Etsy has not yet posted any public acknowledgement of the issue or a timeline for it to be fixed, stay tuned for updates and let us know in the comments below if your Etsy stats are showing at zero!
