eBay Partner Network Affiliate Program Suffers Facebook iOS Breakdown
The eBay Partner Network affiliate program is currently experiencing technical issues preventing affiliate links posted on Facebook from properly opening on iOS devices.
Affiliate members received the following email notice from eBay about the issue today:
We wanted to inform you of a temporary issue affecting EPN affiliate links on iOS devices. Currently, some Apple users may experience issues where affiliate links shared via Facebook do not open in the eBay app as they normally would.
This behavior appears to be limited to Facebook on iOS; Android users are not affected. Our Engineering team is actively investigating the issue and working on a resolution. For real-time updates, please visit our Network Status page.
We appreciate your understanding and patience while we address this. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Thank you,
The eBay Partner Network Team
The system status page shows the issue is currently still in "triage":

The outage appears to be impacting both the standard eBay Partner Network (favored by managed partners, agencies, and professional marketers) as well as users enrolled in the new Ambassador program which allows buyers, sellers, and creators to earn up to 7.5% commission for promoting select listings,

eBay has provided no timeline for a fix at this time and no information on whether affiliates will be compensated in any way for commissions they may miss out on if this technical issue causes clicks on links from Facebook not to be registered properly.
Stay tuned for updates and let us know in the comments below if you've been having problems with link sharing or commission calculation from the eBay Partner Network affiliate program!
