eBay App Mix Up Shows Incorrect, Repeating Mis-Matched Item Images

Users are reporting a technical issue in the eBay app causing search results to display repeating and incorrect item images that don't match listing titles.

So far most reports appear to be from Android users, though the error does not appear to be consistently shown for all, so it's not entirely clear what may be causing the issue.

I noticed the past day or so that the images for listings in search results in the Ebay app keep repeating themselves. The listing titles and prices are in the correct order, but it's the same several images that keep repeating.

When you click on the title it goes to the correct listing for that title, and when viewing that listing the images are correct; it seems to only be the search results showing the mismatched images.

Seems to be working ok on my PC with Chrome browser.

Another user shared a screenshot of the error in the eBay community, showing a search for Cadillac manuals is displaying results with correct titles, but thumbnail images of socks.

I'm also seeing photos that don't match the titles. Some are simply out of order and others have titles from items in a completely different category. For example, a search for a book shows a picture of the book with the title that says it's a brake caliper. This is in the Ebay app for android...

Look at this. This is crazy

Reinstalled the app and still seeing the same problem.

eBay has not yet acknowledged the issue or provided any timeline for a fix, but affected users can report the problem to eBay by shaking their phone while viewing incorrect search results (if shake to report is turned on).

These reports go directly to the appropriate technical or product team and are often the fastest way to get issues fixed.
